Understanding Colorado’s Concealed Carry Laws

Colorado is a “shall-issue” state, meaning that if you meet the legal requirements, the sheriff is required to issue your permit. Colorado Department of Public Safety confirms that permits are issued at the county level and must be obtained through the sheriff where you live or conduct business. (Department of Public Safety)

In Mesa County, all permits are processed through the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
